Local Lifestyle

Druid Hills is located about five miles east of Atlanta's downtown and is ideal for those looking for a suburban lifestyle while still being close to the city's amenities. Residents are proud of their community and participate in annual traditions such as a Fourth of July parade, the Annual Home and Garden Tour, and Druid Hills Day in November.

Dining, Entertainment, & Shopping

There are over 200 storefront shops, restaurants, galleries, services, and performance venues along the tree-lined streets of downtown and Oakhurst Village, just south of the square.

Residents enjoy proximity to several malls, including TOCO Hills Shopping Center and Lenox Mall. Emory Village Shopping Center is conveniently located near Emory University. It offers a wide selection of restaurants, retailers, and services.

From critically acclaimed restaurants and pubs, there are plenty of places to enjoy a special night out with friends or a romantic dinner. Everything from American, Vietnamese, Mexican, and French fare is available, as well as dessert and after-dinner drinks. Local favorites include The General Muir, Dave's Subs, and Melton's App & Tap.

Things to Do

Located three minutes from the Fernbank Museum of Natural History, Olmsted Linear Park is a series of parks connected along Ponce de Leon. It is the signature green space in Druid Hills, with walking trails winding through diverse landscaping. It hosts Olmsted Invitation, which brings well-known painters to Atlanta for a week of Plein air painting. The event offers opportunities to interact with the artists.

Lullwater Preserve is a 154-acre preserve in the heart of Emory University. It is a beautiful place to experience nature in the city, with many birds, reptiles, mammals, and lush greenery. It also contains the university president's home, a 210-food suspension bridge, the beautiful Candler Lake, acres of green space, and miles of jogging and walking trails.

Druid Hills Golf Club is a peaceful haven in this community and features a Herbert Barker-designed 18-hole course. The course also hosts qualifying rounds for the U.S. Women's Open and the Dogwood Invitational. Farm-to-table dining, a state-of-the-art fitness center, 11 tennis courts, and an aquatics center with three swimming pools are among the other amenities available to members.

Druid Hills offers several opportunities to interact with the community and have fun with several events throughout the year. Highlights include graduation season at Emory and the Fourth of July Parade. The Druid Hills Tour of Homes and Gardens is quite popular and a great way to tour some of the most iconic estates in Druid Hills.
