Decatur is a modern and progressive city and has won awards for its diversity, inclusion, and vision. A highly active and close-knit community, over 500 residents help chart the course for Decatur's next decade in the city's Strategic Vision and Plan once every ten years.
An idyllic town square, frequently featured in films, sits perfectly at the center of Decatur, allowing for easy walkability and access to all of the city's distinct neighborhoods. These include Westchester, Glenwood Estates, Clairemont Estates, Winnona Park, College Heights, Oakhurst, and Great Lakes.

Local Lifestyle
Decatur residents love the abundance of festivals, hip bars, one-of-a-kind shops, and James Beard award-winning restaurants. The community is incredibly walkable, and the MARTA train running beneath the city makes it easy to explore Kirkwood, Lake Claire, Druid Hills, and other areas in Atlanta.

Once a railroad station,
Kimball House is a cute little spot famous for its oysters and cocktails. The entrees, such as the duck breast, are extremely tender and perfectly cooked. Their entire menu features outstanding flavors you must try.
LEON's Full Service is a one-of-a-kind restaurant that has transformed an old gas station into a modern dining establishment. However, they have maintained the service, hospitality, and guest satisfaction of a full-service gas station. You'll find everything from burgers to scallops and delectable craft cocktails on the menu. Their heated covered patio is ideal for an outdoor dining experience, and there's a bocce ball court to keep you entertained while you wait for your food.
Café Lily serves various delicious Mediterranean dishes inspired by Italy, France, Spain, and Greece. It reflects the vibrant community living in Decatur. Menu favorites include Prince Edward Island mussels served with white wine and cream sauce and hot mezze platters perfect for sharing. There is also a fantastic selection of alcoholic beverages to complement your meals.
Parker's on Ponce is one of Atlanta's best steakhouses. Choose from boneless cuts such as filet mignon or New York strip, or go for a bone-in option such as the dry-aged Kansas City strip.
The Iberian Pig serves Spanish classics and incredible cheeses. Start with a cheese tasting, which includes a slice of the renowned Jamón Ibérico. Then there's the tapas, which include Spanish olives, broccolini, lobster croquetas, pork cheek tacos, and more. There is also an extensive selection of cocktails and wines.
Brick Store Pub has been Decatur's neighborhood pub for two decades. The beer menu is the main draw, but the good food, welcoming atmosphere, and excellent service are also noteworthy. It is one of Decatur's most popular tourist attractions.
Things to Do
Decatur Square, located in the heart of the city, has 15 blocks for people to walk through and explore. There are major retailers, boutique stores, and award-winning restaurants.
Many people are drawn to Decatur because there are so many festivals to enjoy. Highlights include the Decatur Arts Festival, Decatur BBQ Festival, Decatur Book Festival, Decatur Maker's Fair, Decatur Craft Beer Festival, and Decatur Wine Festival.
Decatur is home to
Eddie's Attic, a popular old-school music venue. The venue has an intimate stage for acoustic singer-songwriters, as well as a poolroom and a covered patio.
